3 NexGen Stocks to Keep Your Eye On

Jul 21, 2017

With so many of my favorite mega-trends ready to fuel the rest of 2017, it’s no surprised that my watch list has ballooned recently. There are plenty of potential money-making ideas in companies that are innovating, shaking up the status quo and leading the next wave of market growth. Three stocks in particular stand out to me right now as names worth keeping an eye on. Let’s talk a bit about each and what I’m looking for to signal a buying opportunity. Continue Reading…

The Real Excitement – and Potential – of NexGen Healthcare

Jul 20, 2017

Healthcare has been all over the news recently, but unfortunately it’s for the wrong reasons. All of the headlines focus on the political squabbling in Washington, D.C., as President Trump pressures Congress to pass a healthcare bill that repeals Obamacare. If any of these folks were paying attention to next-generation solutions and innovation, maybe they would take a look at a company I recently recommended. Continue Reading…

DIS Doesn’t Meet My NexGen Buy Criteria

Jul 20, 2017

In order to make a profound impact on your portfolio, you have to go beyond Wall Street’s narrow focus of picking stocks. That’s why I implement a three-prong approach that gives us a fully comprehensive picture of a stock before we invest in it. Those three prongs are the fundamentals, technicals and what I like to call the intangibles. Today I want to use those three criteria to analyze a stock that has been stuck in a rut recently: The Walt Disney Company (DIS). Continue Reading…

Trade of the Day: JELD

Jul 19, 2017

With the way tech stocks have been moving recently, you’re probably wondering why the heck I would bring up a building materials company as the Trade of the Day. Well, let’s talk about that. JELD-WEN Holding (JELD) is not a household name, and it’s not in a fancy sector either. It’s a building materials company that focuses on doors and windows. But it’s got all three things I look for – a technical buy signal, solid fundamentals and a strong trend behind it – and that makes it too interesting to ignore. Continue Reading…

3 Tech Wrecks to Pick Up from the Rubble

Jul 17, 2017

The tech sell-off took its toll on a large number of stocks, and while some definitely look more attractive at current prices that doesn’t mean that all are worth picking up at a discount. By sorting through those stocks with my technical analysis, I’m seeing three good opportunities in Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX) and Alphabet (GOOGL). Each has pulled back quite a bit in the last six weeks and is now signaling that it could be time to buy selectively. Let's take a closer look at each. Continue Reading…

Could Q2 Earnings Push XLF Over the Top?

Jul 14, 2017

Interest rates have been the talk on Wall Street for some time now, and as they’ve started to move higher recently there is one group in particular that has reaped the benefits. With the yield on the 10-year Treasury bond surging from 2.1% to 2.4% in a matter of a month, the financial group has been off to the races. Higher interest rates are beneficial to the financials because increased lending margins equate to higher profits, and investors are jumping on board now to take advantage of the long-term potential. Today’s Top NexGen CEO – And the Surprising Way to Profit

Jul 12, 2017

By now, you should know the three thins I look for when identifying new investment opportunities: technicals, fundamentals and intagibles. Intangibles are harder to define, but they are often what add the next-gen to our NexGen system. Intangibles are frequently mega-trends that are changing our lives and our world, but they can be anything that lights a fire under a stock – a breakthrough drug, an innovative new product, the possibility of an acquisition and more. It’s pretty rare, but a person can also be one of those intangibles. Continue Reading…

TSLA Revs Up on Model 3 Launch

Jul 07, 2017

Tesla (TSLA) was a market leader in the first half of 2017, but after gaining a whopping 69% through the first six months the stock has rolled over quickly. Shares fell 5.5% on Thursday, trading more than 20% below their June 23 all-time high and officially entering bear market territory. There’s no question TSLA was overextended in the short term and due for a pullback, and news that the company had only sold 22,000 cars in the second quarter and 47,000 in the first half of the year did the trick. Continue Reading…

NexGen Sectors Lead the First Half of 2017

Jul 05, 2017

Here we are at the mid-point of 2017 and investors aren’t sure what to make of the market. According to the latest sentiment survey from the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII), the number of folks who call themselves “neutral” is now 43.4%, which is the highest in nearly a year and way above the historical norm of 31%. These investors think stock prices will basically stay where they are for the next six months. The worst part is that too many investors continue to miss out on wealth-building opportunities. Continue Reading…

ALB Gets Caught Up in Near-Term Weakness but the Upside Remains Great

Jul 03, 2017

It’s been a fantastic six months for my pick in InvestorPlace.com’s Best Stocks for 2017 contest. Even after it dipped more than 9% from a 52-week high in early June, Albemarle (ALB) has still managed to rack up a spectacular 23% year-to-date gain. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this name, Albemarle is a global specialty chemicals company that is a leader in lithium, bromine, refining catalysts and applied surface treatments.
